develop your style

Do you want to stand out from the crowd? The way to do that is to stop trying to look like everyone else and let your own personal style shine through. You don't have to look like a fashion model to be admired for your fashion style. Learn to set your own trends.

steps:

Discover what colors look good on you. Go to a fabric shop and hold different colored fabrics up to your face and see which ones enhance your skin tone and eyes. Once you know what basic colors flatter you, build your wardrobe around them and use trendy seasonal colors as accents.

To develop your style, schedule a few sessions with a fashion consultant to get an objective opinion about what styles are most flattering on you. Keep an open mind and incorporate what you learn into your own personal style.

Choose a celebrity or other fashion icon that you admire and study their way of dressing. Find a celebrity, if possible, who has a similar body type to your own. Experiment with their fashion approach and see if it works for you; but always make it your own.

Stand out with your accessories. Choose a signature accessory that flatters you and become known for it. For example, if you look great in scarves, develop a collection of gorgeous, hand painted scarves that you can wear with all of your outfits. You'll become known for the stunning scarves you wear.

When you develop your style, make sure you're comfortable with it. Don't try to be something you're not. The clothes you wear should make you feel good. Don't wear them just because they're "the latest and greatest".

Once you develop your style, clean your closet and donate anything that's no longer consistent with your new look.
